Effective date: 12 July 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and Serhan Emre Telatar, an individual developer established in Türkiye (“Studel”, “we”, “us”), governing your use of the Studel mobile application and its backend services (together, the “Service”).
By creating an account or using Studel, you accept these Terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the Service.
Please also read our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your data and forms part of this agreement.
Studel is a study tool. You upload your own lecture notes and past exam papers, and Studel uses artificial intelligence to:
Studel is a study aid and nothing more. It is not a teacher, not an examiner, not an accredited educational institution, and not a source of professional advice of any kind.
You must be at least 16 years old to use Studel. By using the Service you confirm that you are.
If you are under 16, you may not create an account. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 16, we will delete it and its data.
You must also have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement, and you must not be barred from using the Service under the laws of your country.
We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these Terms — see §10.
Everything you upload — your lecture notes, your past exams, your questions, your answers — remains yours. We claim no ownership over it.
To run the Service, you grant us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, copy, process, and transmit your content strictly for the purpose of providing the Service to you: extracting text from your PDFs, sending that text to our AI provider, generating quizzes from it, and showing you the results.
This licence exists so that Studel can function. It ends when you delete the content or your account. We will not use your content to train AI models, we will not publish it, we will not sell it, and we will not show it to other users.
You may upload material only if you have the right to do so. By uploading, you confirm that:
Copyright is your responsibility. Lecture slides, textbooks, and past papers are frequently owned by the lecturer, the university, or a publisher, and are often restricted to personal use. Uploading them to a third-party service may breach that restriction. We do not police what you upload, we do not review it, and we cannot advise you on it — but if you upload material you had no right to upload, that is on you, and you agree to hold us harmless for it (§12).
We may remove content and suspend accounts in response to a valid copyright complaint.
You must not:
Studel generates practice material to help you study. Using it to cheat is a misuse of the Service.
Do not use Studel to answer questions during a real exam. Do not use it to produce work you submit as your own where that is prohibited. Do not use it to circumvent an assessment you are required to complete yourself.
Every institution sets its own rules on AI use, and they differ enormously. It is your responsibility to know your institution's rules and to follow them. If you are disciplined, sanctioned, expelled, or have a qualification revoked because of how you used Studel, that is a matter between you and your institution. We accept no liability for it, and we will not defend you.
This is the most important paragraph in these Terms, so it gets its own heading.
Studel's quizzes, exam analyses, answers, and grades are produced by a large language model. Large language models generate plausible text, not verified truth. They can be confidently, fluently, and completely wrong. They invent facts. They misread documents. They mark correct answers wrong and wrong answers correct.
Accordingly:
If you fail an exam, we are very sorry — but studying with Studel is not a guarantee of any academic outcome, and we make no such promise.
| Free | Pro | |
|---|---|---|
| Quiz generation | 10 per month | Unlimited |
| Ask AI questions | 30 per month | Unlimited |
| Courses, weeks, documents, taking quizzes | Unlimited | Unlimited |
AI generation costs us money on every call, which is why the free plan is metered. Everything that does not invoke the AI — creating courses, organising weeks, uploading documents, taking a quiz you already generated, reviewing your attempts — is unlimited on both plans.
Pro is sold as an auto-renewing subscription (monthly or annual) through the Apple App Store.
Cancel through your Apple ID settings — Settings → your name → Subscriptions. That is the only place a subscription can be cancelled. We cannot cancel it for you, and neither can deleting your Studel account.
Deleting your Studel account does not cancel your subscription. If you delete your account and leave the subscription running, Apple will keep charging you. Cancel first, then delete.
When you cancel, you keep Pro until the end of the period you have already paid for. It then reverts to Free.
Refunds are handled by Apple, under Apple's policies. We cannot issue them. If you want a refund, request it from Apple (reportaproblem.apple.com). Consumer rights that cannot be waived under your local law are unaffected — see §14.
We may change prices. An increase will not apply to a subscription period you have already paid for. Apple will notify you of a price change and, where required, ask you to consent before the next renewal. If you do not accept, cancel before the renewal.
We try to keep Studel running, but we do not promise that it always will be. There is no uptime guarantee. The Service may be unavailable for maintenance, or because a provider we depend on (Google, OpenAI, Apple) has an outage.
We may change, suspend, or discontinue any feature at any time. If we discontinue the Service entirely, we will give you reasonable notice and a fair opportunity to export your data, and we will refund the unused portion of any prepaid subscription where the law requires it.
The Studel application, its backend, its design, its name, and its logo are ours, and are protected by intellectual property law. These Terms give you a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service as an end user. They give you nothing else.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Service, or reverse-engineer it, except to the extent that law expressly permits despite this restriction.
You may stop using Studel at any time and delete your account from within the app. Deletion is immediate and irreversible: it destroys your documents, quizzes, attempts, and everything else. Cancel your subscription first (§7.4).
We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms — in particular §4 (what you upload), §4.4 (prohibited uses), or §5 (academic integrity) — or if we are legally required to. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will warn you first and give you a chance to put it right. For serious breaches, we may act immediately.
If we terminate your account for a breach, you are not entitled to a refund of a subscription already paid.
Sections 4.3, 6, 9, 12, 13, 14 and 15 survive termination.
Studel depends on Google (Firebase, Cloud Storage, Cloud Run), OpenAI, Resend, and Apple. Your use of Studel is also subject to Apple's terms, and we are not responsible for the acts, omissions, outages, or policy changes of any of these providers.
You agree to indemnify us and hold us harmless against any claim, loss, liability, damages, and reasonable legal costs arising from:
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied — including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.
We specifically do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, that AI output will be accurate (§6), or that using Studel will improve your grades.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages; for lost profits, lost data, lost study time, or lost academic opportunity; or for any failed exam, lost grade, disciplinary outcome, or academic sanction.
Where we are liable, our total aggregate liability is capped at the greater of (a) the total amount you actually paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) 500 TRY. For a free-plan user, this means our liability is capped at 500 TRY.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for gross negligence or wilful misconduct, or for anything else that cannot be excluded or limited under the law that applies to you. If you are a consumer, your mandatory statutory rights override anything in this section that conflicts with them.
Nothing in these Terms takes away rights you have under mandatory consumer protection law.
Türkiye: you have rights under the Consumer Protection Law No. 6502 and the Distance Contracts Regulation. Note that under Article 15(1)(ğ) of that Regulation, the 14-day right of withdrawal does not apply to digital content delivered instantly in intangible form once performance has begun with your consent — which is what a Pro subscription is. Your right to complain and to seek redress is unaffected: you may apply to the Consumer Arbitration Committee (Tüketici Hakem Heyeti) in your district, or the Consumer Court (Tüketici Mahkemesi), within the monetary thresholds set each year.
EEA/UK: you retain the statutory rights and remedies available to you as a consumer under the law of your country of residence, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of that country.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
The Courts and Execution Offices of İstanbul, Türkiye have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these Terms.
If you are a consumer, this clause does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory law of the country where you live, and it does not stop you from bringing proceedings in your local courts or before your local consumer body (§14).
We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. We will change the “Last updated” date, and for material changes — new fees, reduced quotas, new restrictions, changes to liability — we will notify you in the app or by email before they take effect.
If you do not accept a change, stop using the Service and delete your account. Continuing to use Studel after a change takes effect means you accept the new Terms.
